“Erasmus Interno” (IEDIE)
Per gli studenti appassionati di tecnologia, per quelli che vogliono sperimentare nuove forme di collaborazione tra designer e ingegneria, per quelli che sono consapevoli che il progetto, tanto dei prodotti quanto degli artefatti comunicativi, è sempre più una questione multidisciplinare, la Scuola del Design e la Scuola in Industrial and Information Engineering da quest’anno accademinco hanno attivato un “Erasmus Interno” (IEDIE).
IEDIE è un programma di scambio tra la Scuola del Design (LM in Design della Comunicazione e LM in Prodotto per l’Innovazione) e la Scuola in Industrial and Information Engineering che si propone di far incontrare le culture del design e dell’ingegneria per offrire nuove opportunità e nuovi skill agli studenti per promuovere la creatività e la multidisciplinarità.
IEDIE si configura come piano di studi individuale.
Per l’anno accademico 2016-2017 l’opportunità è offerta a non più di 10 studenti.

Please remember the deadlines for completing the study plan:
School of Design
The students who don’t complete the PdS (Study Plan Submission) within the deadlines, will receive an office study plan, following the precedence of completing and respecting the rules of the laboratorio (Design Studio).
The office study plan will not exceed 74 cfu ( equal to 100 % of contributions) .
The office study plan will not be modified.
Students that miss the submission of the study plan in time, will be charged a €100.00 fine to be paid with the second fee instalment.
Students who want suspend or not continue their studies, must notify us immediately in DICOS@polimi.it, to avoid having a study plan submitted by the office.

Design Now is a programme of collective open designing activities promoted by the Triennale di Milano, the Consortium POLI.design, the School of Design and the Design Department at the Politecnico di Milano, with the support of Polifactory, Politecnico di Milano’s makerspace, with the patronage of Cumulus International Association, the most important worldwide network of Schools of Design, Arts and Media, comprising over 250 institutions. Design Now is a programme of collective open designing activities that focus on concrete experimentation in one of the main themes of the XXI Triennale: “21st Century: Design after Design”. In fact, the programme focuses on the advent of distributed production, which has modified the familiar roles and approaches practised and taught in recent design history.
The program includes three design activities:
• a JAM – “When Production goes into the city”, which focuses on the relationship between service design and the new models of production-distribution. The jam has taken place on May 20th-21st in 7 different locations in the world: Cape Town, Milan, Pamplona, Madeira, Pune, Medellin and Leeds.
• a SUMMER SCHOOL – “FAB City: Designing Products and Services for Urban Resilience through Manufacturing”, which will be concerned with the theme of urban resilience through distributed manufacturing in Fab Cities. It has taken place from July 8th to July 16th at Politecnico di Milano’s School of Design and Polifactory. The 35 participants were selected through two channels: through the international Call and through the jams.
• the EXHIBITION, at Fabbrica del Vapore from the 7th to the 12th of September 2016, included in the XXI Triennale’s program, where all the projects designed during Design Now are presented.

Inside the exhibition New Craft curated by Stefano Micelli 8-12 September from 10.30 to 20.30
“Behind The Product” has been selected as part of the exhibition “New Craft”, showcasing the most original and innovative Italian and international projects taking part in the “Under 35 Call” organized by “La Triennale di Milano” for its XXI International Exhibition.
Designer Giacomo Moor has been working together with professor Mariano Chernicoff
from Milan’s Polytechnic University, during the latter’s Wood Design course. Students of the course has been invited to design an object taking inspiration from both contemporary and traditional wood-working techniques. The final students projects has then been prototyped by different artisans, each one of them specialized in a specific production method.
Aim of the workshop was to push a group of future young designers to explore the limits and possibilities of creativity and design itself, within the boundaries established from the use of a unique material (such as wood) and its related working-techniques.

Mimesis Booktrailer Contest 2016
I lavori di tre gruppi di studenti prodotto nel “Laboratorio di progettazione di artefatti e sistemi complessi” (proff. D. Riccò e G. L. Balzerano) è stato premiato al “Mimesis Booktrailer Contest 2016”, un concorso video organizzato da Mimesis Edizioni per comunicare in forma video il contenuto di un titolo delle edizioni Mimesis.
