Open to the public since September 1997, the library houses the texts indicated during official teaching programs. It also possesses texts for the further study of disciplinary content associated with the problem areas in design and architectural designing and that document the advance of design culture in Italy and abroad.

The Periodicals room holds subscriptions to about 100 magazines and journals available for consultation.

Degree theses: about 50,000 theses have been preserved in the library archives, for both the School of Architecture and of Engineering.

Online catalogue (OPAC), electronic periodicals, databanks and e-books can be consulted at the 8 workstations located in the library entrance, or at home on www.biblio.polimi.it.

The reading room has 150 places.

The language lab, equipped with 28 workstations available for self study, places numerous multimedial devices at the disposal of students along with films in their original language and software for TOEFL practice.
