Territorial and sectoral commodity analysis technical lab

Started in 1997, the lab supports students, teaching staff and researchers in the acquisition of design related information and knowledge, with the main objective of building an as up-to-date as possible picture of contemporary production and production systems: a continuously updated observatory on the main design related commodity sectors and an interface between companies, their products and their users.

The lab selects the most interesting documents for its users, according to a criterion that takes various elements into account: historical importance in project culture; innovative and technological interest; trendsetters; affiliation to associations in the category or industrial districts. It gathers the documentation and classifies it by sector, section and category of products. The legacy thus compounded includes catalogues, samples, company monographs and documents, sector documentation and research dossiers elaborated by students, normative regulations, a small library, official journals of categorial associations, journals addressing experts or published by companies etc. This legacy amounts to around 7,500 documents.
