The high visual, communicative and emotional impact of colour constitutes a fundamental component when designing the interactions of a space, an object, or an interface with human beings.
The purpose of the Colour technical lab is to provide a series of indispensible services for a greater awareness and more effective use of colour in design.
Strong in human resources and the variety of skills from the scientific and professional world it attracts, the lab acts as an operative unit for a colour-culture-in-progress. It is able to dialogue and work in close relation with the production world.
The lab works in support of basic and specialist training in issues relating to colour design, basic applied and experimental research development and scientific and technological contributions for the development of innovative methods, techniques, products and systems to meet the requirements of enterprise and institutions.
In terms of teaching and research support the lab offers tools and equipment for the measurement, annotation and management of colour, among which the main chromatic systems and international colour samples currently in use (NCS, Natural Color System, Munsell, Pantone, RAL) and their translation keys.
In addition to instruments, there is also a small theme library available to students.
