EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

Building an International Curriculum in Design
Students in the Design School have various opportunities to follow an international course of training and benefit from the possibilities offered.
130 European universities and 50 universities from other parts of the world have set up student exchange agreements with the Design School.
European mobility is supported by European LLP – Erasmus funds, while mobility outside Europe is funded, wherever possible, by our own University.

Within the ambits of the mobility programs the Design School has set up other types of agreement to offer programs of excellence with selected Schools:

In 6 European countries through the MEDes program, which offers 2 years of exchange in 2 different European Schools;

In China, in Shanghai for a double degree program between the Master in Product Service System Design and the Tongja University;

In China, in Beijing for a double degree program between the Master in Interior Design and the Design Academy of Tsinghua University.

In January every year the Politecnico di Milano publishes the range of European and non-European exchanges in which the Design School is taking part and prepares its students with a series of meetings “Fuori di Qui!” (Out of Here!) involving students who have already done an exchange and foreign students who are currently studying at the school.
As well as these programs, there is also the possibility of undertaking the Master program curricular work placement in Europe, through the bando Erasmus Placement arranged by the University Career Service and the School of Design, which enables selected students to obtain scholarships for an experience of at least three months (250 hours).
If you cannot or do not wish to have a long stay abroad, the Design School offers alternatives such as workshops, summer courses or international competitions which are regularly published on the website.

Further information about the exchange programs can be found in the “Outgoing” section of the website.
