Workshop: Le temps des vacances – Holidays

The Ecole des Beaux Arts de Bordeaux offers a new workshop opportunity from the 1st  to the 12th Septembre  open to the students 3° year and Master LM  of  INTERNI Interior- COMUNICAZIONE Communication – PSSD

THEME :  For the summer of 2014, the theme for work and research will once more be anchored in a regional context: the Atlantic Ocean, dunes, moors, forests, sunny vacations on the beach.  In Aquitaine the number of overnight stays by tourists from outside the region remains  around 80 million per year: 42 million for the
summer vacation period (May-September). That is, 280,000 tourists per day, who come
to the region by way of international airports, using the major highway networks or on fast
TGV trains. The workshop Holidays will take a look at this summer population from outside the region: what these tourists do, where they stay, how they move, organize their time and come and go. The vacationing population is cheerful and relaxed but nevertheless ready to experiment with different ways of life and open to innovative arrangements and confi gurations.
LANGUAGE : French and English
COST  : no fee is to be paid. Travel and accomodation are on the student.

The Summer School “Graphic Design and Visual Communication” aims at gaining professional competences in the field of graphic design and computer visualization as well as development of creative thinking and non-standard approach application. The program is oriented on international students, whose major is Graphic Design, Art and Design, Information Technologies and Design. Summer program includes 4 courses: – Graphic Design and Visual Communication; – Sketching and 3D modeling; – Russian civilization and architecture; – Russian language. Upon successful program completion students will receive SPbSPU certificate.

Quattro scuole, due di design e due di architettura, stanno dando vita ad una rete internazionale, chiamata  “”archimedes: architettura, mediterraneo, design”, destinata a costituire una comune piattaforma di sperimentazione e di riflessione attorno ad alcune tematiche di attualità che riguardano la natura attuale dell’architettura, dello spazio, pubblico e privato, e del design. Una rete destinata nei prossimi anni a crescere grazie alla partecipazione alla piattaforma di altre scuole del basso Mediterraneo, scuole anche portatrici di altre tradizioni culturali e di saperi disciplinari provenienti da altri ambiti, come quello artistico, in vista della possibilità di costruire progetti transdisciplinari innovativi e aperti al dialogo interculturale.

At AGORA Bordeaux 2030 you might see Prototypes and projects risulting from an international workshop “Marchons Marchons” held in Bordeaux during last July and organised by EBABX?-?School of Higher Education in the Arts of Bordeaux and the Scuola del Design del Politecnico di Milano (Emmanuel Gallina, Raffaella Mangiarotti, Laurent Matras, Madeleine Montaigne, Jeanne Quéheillard, Franscesco Zurlo). Some of the School of deign students took part in the workshop.
Participants have worked in collaboration with partner local and regional shoe companies, who contributed with their techniques, identity, history and know-how in order to realize the prototypes (Mod8?-?Aster, Babylone, Arcus, Hirica, Sécurité 24, Don Quichosse, Prodiso, Marquet?/?Quartem, Megam Création, Etect, Jean Petit?/?Wapiti…).

The postgraduate program, based in the School of Fine Arts, Lyon, invites five young artists from different geographical backgrounds, who are already actively engaged in the art practice. The artists will be given full access to the school’s facilities and studios. The development of individual work will be challenged through constant critical interaction, the creation of collective projects and opportunities to travel and meet with international artists and art practitioners.
Supervision: François Piron.
François Piron is an art critic and curator. He is a founder member of the independent exhibition space castillo/corrales in Paris and the publishing house Paraguay Press.

Exhibition “Generation Design” Paris

For those who come to Paris for the second edition of the Design Week, we advise you to visit the Generation Design exhibition where Paolo Cappello, a graduate of the School of Design of the Politecnico is showing. He ‘was selected along with 24 other young designers coming out of other international design schools to participate in the exhibition organized by Elle Décoration with the VIA at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris on the occasion of the 25 years anniversiray od the magazine.
