VILNIUS INTERIORS DESIGN WORKSHOP 2014

 

The aim of the workshop is to introduce participants to the issues of architectural drawing and interior design in order to get practical skills developing a studio project during an intensive workshop.
The design site will be the historic environment in the old town of Vilnius and a small boutique-type of interior located in Stikli? Street. Participants will be requested to prepare a graphic report about the historic context visualizing pattern issues and key elements of the urban space and also leading a brief analysis on the trademark they are using for the shop.
Workshops and lectures will be organised to support participants in the charrette process and dedicating lectures and field activities to analysis of the historical settlement, free-hand drawing and sketch projects and the final interior design assignment.
Small project team with students from Milan and Vilnius will design the sketch proposal for the boutique shop and the streetscape providing options and different templates for a flexible adaptation of the store space.
The studio process, based on a design atelier at the College of Design of Vilnius, will be enriched by visits, with tours and special lectures about local traditions, architecture and landmarks. The workshop will be both inspirational and highly practical and aims to deliver ideas and guidance for those involved with interior design in historic urban landscapes dealing with contemporary issues.
It is scheduled a final review and presentation of the student’s projects and the publication of a report after the end of the workshop, including also reporting activities on social media.
