JEWELRY DESIGN
The presentation and selection: October 2, 2013, 9:30 am

The course aims to train specific skills that can handle the complexity of jewelry making with all its aspects. It provides a design workshop, as the heart of the course, during which three internationally well-known designers work side by side with students on design projects that will then be modeled in the Rhinoceros software.

Some of the most important companies in luxury segment that are the partners of the course will have the possibility to offer internships for successful students.

HAUTE COUTURE: CORSET OF HIGH FASHION
From the pattern to making

The Advanced Training Course is aimed at those who wish to specialize in design and manufacturing of an iconic garment that was a dream object of generations: corset, which is called “bourlesque” both in the latest style and in the high fashion.

During the course, students will learn the traditional techniques of building a real corset, addressing all aspects of high quality corset tailoring (design, cut and finish). The course is aimed at graduates and non-graduates, who have knowledge of tailoring techniques.

FASHION DANDY: MALE SHIRT DESIGN
The design and tailoring of the must-have piece of a man’s wardrobe: the shirt

During the course students will learn in a practical way how to produce the various parts that form a man’s shirt. Through the creation and development of basic models provided by the teacher, the students will realize a proper “fit” of the shirt.

The course is aimed at graduates and non-graduates with a basic knowledge and a predisposition to learn the tailoring techniques. Those who don’t have basic tailoring knowledge must attend an introductory course of 1-2 days in order to acquire the basics (using the sewing machine, placement of the pattern).

FOOTWEAR DESIGN
Materials, techniques, trends, design, modeling and prototyping

The aim of the course organized in collaboration with the Politecnico Calzaturiero di Padova, is to overcome the division between the design and technical development, and to train professionals, who know how to communicate effectively with producers, have knowledge about the state of the art, the potential and possibilities of implementation. This course triggers the innovation in which the product concept is actually enhanced by the technique and technology and not “reduced” to a mere industrial product.
A highly successful first edition involved 4 design workshops done by prestigious designers in the world of the footwear design, such as Armando Pollini, Marco Censi & Guillaume Hinfray , Federico Lagger, Franklin Elman; and as a result, 5 footwear prototypes were displayed in Bologna during the Fair LINEAPELLE.

DESIGN FOR THEATRE – COSTUMES
From design to tailoring

How is a costume in a theatre created? What are the differences in design and implementation of a costume for various forms of performances and plays, from ballet to musicals, from opera to the television?

The objective of the Advanced Course is to train designers that are capable of learning traditional and innovative techniques for design, construction and decoration of a costume. The students will also visit the companies, atelier and laboratories that produce footwear, jewelry, wigs and hats, which are the essential accessories of costumes.
