The competition invites young people to hand in their ideas of a short film about Europe until September 15th. If the jury likes their ideas, they will get a budget to produce the film. Out of the produced short films we want to produce a film of about 15 minutes which should draw a wide and modern picture of Europe – what is good, what is bad, what people are happy for and what people are afraid of in Europe. The final film should be used for political education for example to be shown in cinemas or schools. For the project to succeed, we need people from many different parts of Europe to take part in the competition. For that reason, I want to ask you if it’d be possible that you spread the anouncement within your students network, maybe via mailing lists, facebook or others. With that, you could help the competition to get to as many people as possible and to create a at most “realistic” film about Europe.

With the production company Independent Artists, we have filmmaker Feo Aladag in our team who won a lot of prizes for her film “Die Fremde”. Also filmmakers from all over Europe will be in the jury. In the end, the three best films will win a camera worth 1600 Euros. The rules of competition can be downloaded on our website www.europe-at-heart.eu News, for example on jury members, can be read on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Europeatheart
