The competition is aimed at shifting the focus of design away from brand and lifestyle towards real solutions to physical and social problems.
It is not limited to China or Chinese nationals and not limited to students either. Entries can be in English or Chinese.
It is not an ‘exclusive entry’ competition; there is no entry fee and we are really hoping to receive corporate, student and individual entries. Even previ
ously published projects are welcome. All we ask is that the ideas have at least been prototyped in some way. It is not a ‘concept’ competition in that sense.
It is a very simple entry procedure and there is no fee for entry, awards or dissemination.
As part of the ‘open’ philosophy of the project, we have tried to keep the competition independent of industry, education, government, and ‘experts.’ Therefore the final winners will be determined through an online voting system. We are aware that this is open to some abuse, but are doing all we can with our programmers to minimize this.
This is the first year so in some ways a learning process and we are happy to be challenged by the range of submissions.
