Avviso dai partner: Fully-funded PhD Scholarships at Glasgow School of Art

The Glasgow School of Art is seeking to recruit 2 full-time funded studentships PhD to research Design Innovation as part of the Knowledge Exchange Hub ‘Design in Action’ (KEHDIA): stipend £13,590 per annum and Fees £3,466 per annum by the AHRC, specifically focused upon Design Innovation processes, methods and tools as they are applied in business and public service contexts to achieve economic growth and the development of creative capacity.
The aim is to apply strategic design principles to support the development of innovative products, processes & services via the ‘sandpit’ methodology. The resulting design-led innovation will ensure that Scotland can operate effectively, contribute to the creative economy and compete in world markets. The two PhD candidates will work with a post-doctoral researcher and a senior Co-Investigator, all of whom will contribute to the collective aims and methodology of KEHDiA, its application and outcomes. The GSA has developed Design Innovation as a design approach in partnership with enterprise agencies, businesses, public services, policy makers, and academic partners. The PhD candidates will be based in Design Innovation under the guidance of Professor McAra-McWilliam, Head of the School of Design. We particularly welcome proposals that focus on the following research themes:
Plural:health and wellbeing, including the rural context.
Distributed City:the design of sustainable networked communities and enterprises
Creative Cultures:designing the future of work.
Generally applicants must be UK/EU citizens and be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom.
